PROGRAM
Arrival of the boat.
Departure of the excursion. The guide awaits you at the port with the sign "Shorexc".
Our first stop will be at the Pico de Bandama to contemplate the Caldera de Bandama (volcanic caldera of large dimensions and steep walls). During the journey we will have beautiful views of the coast and the first golf course in Spain.
Visit to Teror: Also known as Villa Mariana de Teror, it is one of the oldest municipalities in the archipelago (its history dates back to 1481). The area next to its Basilica is declared Historical-Artistic Heritage.
Finally, we will go to Arucas. The city is located at the foot of the mountain of Arucas, an ancient volcano in which there is a viewpoint with excellent views and that exhibits a very peculiar aspect: it seems that it has on one side a kind of giant footprint. It stands out within its historical-artistic heritage the church of San Juan Bautista, popularly known as the cathedral of Arucas. Its initial configuration dates from the seventeenth century, the current church was built in neo-Gothic style of new plant in the early twentieth century. Inside it keeps a considerable artistic treasure, with sculptural pieces of Italian origin, Flemish paintings and the Andalusian school, and works by Cristóbal Hernández de Quintana. The name of the town comes from the transliteration made by the Castilians of the aboriginal toponym "Arehucas". The city is settled on a valley, originally sea floor that when the volcano of the Mountain of Arucas emerged closed forming a lagoon.
Return to the ship.
End of the tour.
