The history of the city dates back to Neolithic times, but it is in the 1st century B.C. when the Roman colony called "Barcino" was founded. From there, the historical tour of the city has made all the cultural and religious past reflected in its current multicultural richness, which is a true wonder for the traveler. In addition, it has been favored by its privileged location on the shores of the Mediterranean and as the "gateway" to the peninsula. The most recent stage (since the 19th century) has turned Barcelona into a modern, prosperous and -above all- beautiful city. Considered the capital of modernism and the birthplace of Gaudí, its buildings, monuments and artistic works surprise all visitors.
