It is a cosmopolitan city and an important commercial and cultural center in Norway, with important festivals throughout the year.

Tromso is a famous stopover on all fjord cruises. The city and has a rich neoclassical architecture, which adds even more charm to the urban area. PROGRAM

Arrival of the boat.

Departure of the excursion. The guide waits at the port with the "Shorexc" sign.

Panoramic tour of the main points of interest of the city.

We will visit the following sites:

– The Arctic Cathedral: Tromsdalen Church, commonly known as Arctic Cathedral (Ishavskatedralen, literally "The Cathedral of the Arctic Ocean"), is a church in the Tromsdalen neighborhood, built in 1965. It is a parish church and, ecclesiastically speaking, it is not a cathedral.

The church was designed by Jan Inge Hovig and built mainly in concrete. Due to the different image and situation, it has often been called "The Norwegian Opera House", comparing it to the famous Sydney Opera House in Australia. The church is probably the highlight of Tromsø, although the city has two other churches of interest, Tromsø Cathedral and the Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Tromsø which are characterized by being the only wooden cathedrals in Norway and for being the two northernmost cathedrals in the world.

– Polar Museum: The Polar Museum of Tromso is one of the most emblematic places of this town. A small but lively museum that recreates Arctic expeditions and capture in the Arctic. The museum is located in an old customs house next to the pier whose construction dates back to 1830.

– Fjellheisen cable car: The cable car to Storsteinen Mountain, located 420 metres above sea level, offers stunning panoramic views of the city, waterways and surrounding mountains. The cable car operates all year round (until 01.00 in the morning in summer).

Return to the ship.
