Discover North Cape during your fjord cruise. Say hello from this "end of the world" located on the island of Magerøya, in the north of the country. Its cliff is 307 meters high, and is considered the northernmost point in Europe. From the nearby port of Honninsvag – where Norway cruises call – you'll reach the North Cape enjoying stunning scenery.

You'll also discover that the northernmost point of the planet is actually a short distance from the North Cape, but doesn't have the iconic charm of the North Cape. You can photograph yourself next to the famous sculpture of the globe, or in front of the famous monument to the Childhood, and complete the "obligatory" visit to the vertiginous cliffs of the place, more than 300 meters above the sea. And if you are lucky you may see a group of reindeer, which usually roam the area freely!

PROGRAM

 Departure of the excursion. This excursion is done without a guide, so you must be attentive to the return schedule.   The bus awaits you at the port of Honningsvag with the sign "Shorexc".

Once on site, you will have free time to visit the North Cape Visitor Centre. This is a large building that houses all the necessary facilities to receive the thousands of tourists who come every summer to visit the North Cape. In addition to a large restaurant or the typical souvenir shop, there is a cinema with a large format screen where an excellent film is continuously projected for free that shows the atmosphere and life of the North Cape during the different times of the year.

In front of the Visitor Center building is the famous iron sculpture representing the Globe, the iconic image of the North Cape.

The area is perfect for short walks and to look out over one of its impressive cliffs, where the waves of the sea break strongly. With luck you can share the ride with a group of reindeer that run freely around the area. For lovers of nature and virgin areas, it is the ideal place, with its landscape without trees on the horizon and sparse vegetation that attests to the harshness of the climate.

A few meters from the Center, is the Monument to Childhood, which was built in June 1988 by 7 children from different countries of the world. On a round stone in front of the monument you can read:

"In June 1988, seven children from different corners of the world met in the North Cape. They were here for a week and together created the Barn av Jorden (Children of the World) Monument, a symbol of cooperation, friendship, hope and joy."

Another rarely frequented site is the monument made to remember the visit of the King of Sweden and Norway "Oscar II" who made on July 2, 1873. It is located to the left of the main building, and from its location you can see a Nice view of the Globe monument.
