Description
Catania is a beautiful city located on the eastern coast of Sicily. It was founded in the eighth century BC by the Greeks, and is an example of incomparable urban improvement: it has been devastated seven times by the volcanic activity of Etna!
The excursion to Catania leaves no one indifferent. Beauty
its buildings and monuments are enjoyed thanks to the efforts of its inhabitants over the centuries, after suffering the destructive power of Etna. In the seventeenth century – and in an interval of only 30 years – it suffered a volcanic eruption and an earthquake that devastated the city almost completely. But although there are no vestiges of its glorious Greek past, the city opens up wonderful to visitors: remains of its Roman Theater, fabulous baroque streets (Via Crociferi), majestic squares (Piazza del Duomo) or green and refreshing parks make this tour one of the most beautiful among excursions in Italy.
Do not forget to know the city of the genius Bellini, and feel at home with its hospitable inhabitants. Keep the best memory on your cruise visiting Catania with us. We are waiting for you!
