Le Castellet.

Church of San Salvador de la Transfiguración: It was built in 1030 by the Bishop of Marseille. In the eighteenth century the church has become too small and is expanded. The orientation changes and two Gothic arches are built perpendicular to the Roman axis

The Romanesque part of the façade is crowned with a tower topped with three arches and a small bell. This church has been declared a historical monument.

The Castle: It was built in the highest part of the village. It dates from the tenth century, although it was dismantled in 1369 and rebuilt in the fifteenth century under the reign of King René. The main façade is registered in the supplementary inventory of Historical Monuments. At present, in this castle is located the Town Hall and several exhibition halls.

Le Castellet is proud to have served as the setting for the film: "The Baker's Wife" by French film director and writer "Marcel Pagnol". It is also known for its automobile circuit "Paul Ricard" built in 1963 by the famous creator of the anise drink "Ricard".

In 1971 the first Formula I Grand Prix in France was held at this circuit and different motorcycle championships have been held.

 Sanary-sur-Mer.

The true history of Sanary began with a medieval tower built in the thirteenth century, called the Romanesque Tower, which defended through the centuries the Mediterranean coast and its inhabitants.

Church of St Nazaire: This church is dedicated to St. Peter, the patron saint of fishermen, but the patron saint is St. Nazaire. In 1113, a bull of Pope Paschal II dictates that within the possessions of Saint-Victor of Marseille, the church of Saint-Nazaire located near the sea be built.

In the seventeenth century, this church was replaced by another built in 1663 in the same place where the current church is located. The latter was built with the intention of having a larger and more beautiful church. The foundation stone was laid on April 27, 1891 and the first mass was celebrated on July 31, 1892.

This church has the particularity of having two facades: one on the side of the choir and the organ that leads to a narrow street and the other in the south nave, with a covered porch and which is located facing the sea. Between the two facades stands an elegant bell tower that ends in the shape of a needle.

The Tower: It is a monumental tower built in 1300, measuring 21 meters high. It is the historical starting point of Sanary-sur-Mer. In the sixteenth century it was transformed into a prison. Today it houses the Frédéric Dumas Museum, dedicated to scuba diving. There are historical diving equipment and numerous unique objects. Philippe Taillez, Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Frédéric Dumas are natives of the city and are true pioneers of underwater diving.
